I’ve been asked by the wonderful Toff de Venecia to do an illustration for Andrea Ang’s take on Fashion Envy in her article “Material Girls”. Now available at page 80 of Chalk Magazine‘s September 2012 issue! Hope you guys could grab a copy and check it out :)
“With the proliferation of fashion blogs, it’s easy to feel like everyone’s got a better wardrobe than you. Andrea Ang takes a look at modern day fashion envy- and what you can do about it.”
The concept I was gunning for while creating this piece was to combine the idea of “rose tinted glasses” and “green with envy”. I used brand elements as designer shapes- all rendered and drawn in a very delicate fashion illustration aesthetic. Pretty satisfied with how it turned out and the layout artist did a great job with putting it all together on the page.
Once again, a big thanks and shout out to Toff and Andrea. I’m so glad we got to do this collaboration. I had tons of fun :)
