I have been alluding to this piece for a while now and since I am currently in a digital art roll, I’ve decided to finally post this piece. This is my contribution to The Ringmaster, for a song entitled The Cunning Crow Will Tell You Everything.
The Ringmaster is a pleasure to illustrate for, and I drew this based on a string of lyric. I feel it not my place to mention the text but instead offer my own interpretation from what I heard. I felt that the song I based this on spoke about reverence and how we have responsibility towards what we believe in, and to those who have confidence in what we say or do. I feel that it talks about the sufferings brought about by influence and by being influenced ourselves– but in order to make it to the ‘infinite hour’, we must allow ourselves to be teachable and grow from that. I chose to render this interpretation with a man of antiquity, hardened by time and not at all phased by his crown of thorns. His hands are formed in two mudras, one that symbolizes teaching, the other ‘do not fear’.
I’ve been worked on this illustration since last year. Everything is done digitally on Photoshop and Illustrator. This piece is my contribution to a larger collaboration which I will elaborate on in the future. I hope you guys would watch out for it :)
Speaking of something to watch out for, should you like updates on any of artsy activities, creative interests, events etc… please do like me up on facebook. It is quite bare at the moment since it is a newly born thing but I hope that you may look forward to updates and that this makes following my blog easier.

This is gorgeous. I love the color palette you used, I could stare at this for hours and just feel relaxed. I love how you did the face as well. There’s a hardness in it that feels unyielding but sad. I love all the textures and all the details that worked to piece everything together, especially the ethereal touch of the moon phases. Again, I say: THIS. IS. GORGEOUS. Great work as always.
Kat ;-; That is too sweet. Thank you so much for touching on the sensitivities I was trying to convey (subtle as they are!). I’m so glad you like it!
Wonderful coloring, symbology, subject matter! Never expected anything less <3 You are a winnarrr
